The Ivory Index integrates local AI models (primarily llama3.2 and up to 15 locally-hosted models via Ollama) to assist users with admissions preparation. All AI outputs are algorithmic suggestions only. They do not represent the views, assessments, or decisions of any educational institution, scholarship body, visa authority, or other third party.
Admissions Disclaimer. IECC does not guarantee, warrant, or represent admission to any institution; scholarship award; financial aid determination; ranking outcome; interview invitation; visa approval; employment outcome; or any other third-party decision. Outcomes depend entirely on independent decisions by third parties over whom IECC has no control or influence.
Article II — User Reliance Allocation
The User acknowledges and agrees that:
Mandatory Review Obligation. All AI-generated outputs must be reviewed, edited, and verified by the User before use, submission, or reliance. The User is solely responsible for the content of any materials submitted to third parties.
No Professional Advice. AI outputs do not constitute legal advice, financial advice, educational consulting, career counselling, psychological assessment, or any other form of licensed professional advice.
No Fiduciary Relationship. IECC's provision of AI-assisted tools does not create any fiduciary duty, advisory relationship, or duty of care beyond that of a software licensor.
Assumption of Risk. The User assumes full risk for decisions made in reliance on AI outputs. IECC is not liable for any consequence arising from such reliance, including without limitation academic, professional, financial, or reputational consequences.
Institutional Independence. No AI output reflects or predicts the decision-making criteria, preferences, or outcomes of any specific institution. Institutions apply their own holistic review processes independent of The Ivory Index.
Article III — Technical Safeguards
IECC implements documented technical measures to promote output quality, including:
Structured profile context injection — relevant User profile data is systematically provided as context to improve output relevance
Model parameter configuration — temperature and sampling parameters are calibrated to reduce hallucination rates
Mandatory User review — the Software interface is designed to require User confirmation before outputs are used for downstream purposes
These measures reduce but do not eliminate the risk of inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading AI outputs. They do not constitute a warranty of output accuracy.
Article IV — AI Model Transparency
4.1 Models Used
The Software uses Ollama-distributed open-source models running locally on the User's device. The default model is llama3.2. Up to 15 models may be available depending on User configuration. Model weights are governed by their respective open-source licences.
4.2 No Training on User Data
IECC does not use User profile data or AI interaction logs to train or fine-tune AI models. All inference occurs locally; User data is not transmitted to model providers.
4.3 Model Limitations
AI models may produce outputs that are: factually incorrect; outdated relative to current admissions requirements; biased based on training data; inconsistent across sessions; or unsuitable for specific institutions or programmes. Users must independently verify all factual claims.
Article V — Academic Integrity
The User is solely responsible for ensuring that their use of AI-generated content complies with the academic integrity policies, honour codes, and submission guidelines of each institution to which they apply. IECC does not monitor, audit, or certify compliance with any institution's AI use policies. Submission of AI-generated content in violation of an institution's policies is the User's sole responsibility and risk.
Article VI — Liability Limitation
IECC's liability arising from AI outputs is subject to the limitation of liability set out in the EULA. In no event shall IECC be liable for any admissions outcome, scholarship decision, visa determination, or other third-party decision, whether or not the User relied on AI-generated content in connection with such outcome.
